Emergency Room Phrases in Spanish · Frases para emergencias
In the ER, short direct questions work best: ¿Qué pasó? (keh pah-SOH), then pain, head injury, bleeding, and allergies. Keep your sentences under ten words.

Pronunciation tips · Cómo pronunciarlo
- Stress changes meaning. “Pasó” (it happened) is pah-SOH; “paso” (I pass) is PAH-so. In “¿Qué pasó?” the stress falls on the last syllable.
- Imperatives are polite with “por favor.” “No se mueva, por favor” is firm but respectful.
- Use “le / la” to speak to the patient directly (“la vamos a llevar”).
